In the (glorious) summer of 1990, 5 guys decided to record a demo of some original songs.  We spent a couple long nights recording on Wilbur Street in Newark, DE with a friend of Rob’s named Keith (maybe?) who had a studio and most importantly: an 8-track recorder.  The cost of the 3 songs was around $150 and until we paid the full amount, he held onto Rob’s speakers as collateral…

The Players:

Larry DiMaio – vocals, Gerry Neale – acoustic guitar, Rob Cavenagh – guitar, Michael Bolan – bass, Chris Collins – drums.

The original Ampex multitrack tape has been in Rob’s “archive” for the 32 years since these songs were recorded. Rob used a service in Nashville to recover the multi-track audio and did another mix of the original recordings. No new recording was done – just some digital magic and cleanup with Logic Pro that didn’t exist in 1990…

(Ed. note: the original posting had the date indicated as 1989 but Rob had a think this evening and realized it was actually 1990…)
